An amazing item which has provided me with so much independence whilst also helping to alleviate and prevent symptoms.
As someone with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, I often need to use a chair to alleviate symptoms but quickly learned that unfortunately, that meant causing symptoms in other areas (for example, shoulder pain and dislocations can occur while self propelling).
The Smoov allows me to be out in my chair and confidently navigate the cobbles and potholes in my local area, even if I have my dog Millie with me. I simply choose the speed which is easily adjusted and safely stops.
It weighs 10kg but I have found it easy enough to take out of my car boot and clip onto my chair, same for removing it.
I have not tried to use the Smoov on grass etc given the current winter weather, but I imagine it would be okay on dry grass. Although it has massively helped me when slipping in the winter. I don’t know how I ever managed without.
