I bought this chair specifically to use indoors and around my garden use. The main selling point for me was that the chair has a riser function, meaning I could reach into cupboards etc. I have been told by other people that they have taken their chairs all over the place & have been very pleased with their purchase; but for me it lacks support and has inadequate stability on steeper ramps compared to the other chairs I have at home. It just about goes through a standard doorway, although you will see from my photo that I have damaged the arm rest doing this. It is easy to transfer into this chair, before getting around the house or into my garden. However, I would not feel comfortable sitting in it for a prolonged period, as the seat has very little padding and spinal support.
The rear wheels stick out a long way, which helps with the stability of the chair, but I find I tend to damage my furniture with them. They almost stick out a little too much! Sadly since buying this my condition has changed, so I rarely use the riser function. This is because the footplate does not go up with the seat, so your legs are left to dangle. This puts pressure on my limbs, which in turn could cause my joints to easily dislocate. Other than this, I can honestly say that there isn’t any major downsides to using this chair. But as with all chairs, it depends on the users condition and lifestyle. Personally, I would not buy this again and think there are better chairs on the market!
