No, if you’re not totally confident using such a lightweight chair or able to back wheel balance, keep the antitips on as they will stop the chair tipping right back.
Due to frequent fractures and severe rotator cuff damage, I was struggling to use my NHS chair and couldn’t get anything more suitable from them. Thankfully, I was able to get my Tilite with a SmartDrive powerassist attachment through a condition specific charity. With everything made to measure from high quality materials, the chair is manoeuvrable and comfortable with a Jay Cushion. I opted for flip down push handles and Surge rims which are oval giving a more comfortable and efficient grip. With the powerassist I’ve regained the ability to get out and about and go further afield. In the 2 years I’ve had the Tilite, I’ve added a bottle carrier (from a cycle shop), cycle lights and a Quokka bag so my phone etc is always within arms reach https://quokkabag.com . While there are lots of different wheelchairs out there, most of which I tried before deciding on the Tilite, the Tilite works best for me.
