Jul 17, 2020

* This post is written by one of our content creators - it is not sponsored. *

We have teamed up with Lewis Reed to create a series of honest Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) reviews in both video and written formats. The purpose being to help ypu learn more about the company, their vehicle adaptions, and the Motability Scheme. To check out our collection of Lewis Reed vehicle reviews, simply click the links at the end of this post!

Who Are Lewis Reed?

Though all WAVs provide safe and easy access for wheelchair users - it takes a specialist company to consider the customer's needs and wants, in addition to the size and shape of a WAV before conversion. Hence why Lewis Reed is the UK’s leading WAV provider! With over 20 years of experience, numerous awards, and official recommendations, you are guaranteed to receive excellent customer service with a level of knowledge that is completely unrivalled.

Which Vehicles Do They Convert?

Making a vehicle wheelchair accessible is a complicated and intricate process, one of which requires extensive knowledge on how to best fit wheelchairs into a compact space. Because of this, Lewis Reed stocks a large range from smaller cars to larger people carriers, in the most popular colours and models. Meaning each vehicle is ready to be converted immediately after ordering and the customer can benefit from earlier delivery times! They also have a directory of used/ex-demo vehicles available to buy, which are in excellent condition and highly specified.

What If My Needs Cannot Be Met?

After years of researching how to modify vehicles that are efficient, practical, and aesthetically pleasing, Lewis Reed understands the importance of using a customer-centred approach. No request is ‘too much’ or ‘too complex’, as they take great pride in being able to offer solutions for both the wheelchair user and their family/friends/carer. They take personal preferences and physical needs into consideration when converting any vehicle to ensure that all passengers are provided with an enjoyable, time saving and socially integrated experience!

Buying A WAV:

Buying a WAV is often an overwhelming and unaffordable task, especially if paying for a vehicle yourself and/or utilising flexible finance agreements is not feasible. This is why the Motability Scheme is a popular option for someone interested in leasing a Lewis Reed conversion, as nearly all their vehicles are available! With this, you pay a deposit (Advance Payment) and then a portion of your Personal Independence Payment (PIP) goes towards the payment of your WAV. Nearly New WAVs (less than 3 years old) are available on a 3-year lease, whereas New WAVs (brand new) are only available on a 5-year lease.

To learn more about Lewis Reed's bespoke vehicle conversions, you can visit their office in Bromborough, call them on 0151 343 5360, fill out their online request form or arrange a home demonstration!
