Personal Opinion:
I have Progressive MS and I went from a Caterham 7 sports car to the Trekinetic – and it has gone some way to making me feel good about myself. It is often a talking point whilst out and about, as it has a very modern design with the 3rd small rear wheel and people stop me to talk about the chair. This wheelchair has proved the most comfortable of all the electric wheelchairs I use, and I can spend the longest amount of time in it.

The ride is good and allows me to go off-road – even onto beaches, although it sometimes struggles on very soft deep sand as it can dig itself in, so I sometimes need some extra pushing from my wife! It has given me the freedom to enjoy the great outdoors, theatre, music concerts, and holidays abroad and given me independence.

My wife finds that it is a simple exercise to strip the chair down to the bucket section and remove the mountain bike like wheels, which pop off easily and it all fits in the back of our car. Although the newer versions of my chair can now fit in a car boot without having to strip it down!

The only downside is that I have the wide-bodied version, as I am 6ft tall and 16 stone. So, we do sometimes find it doesn’t always fit through hotel room doorways and houses that are not disabled-friendly, as it is too wide across the wheelbase. But I have been told the standard version does not have this problem!
